I don’t know about you, but I am a big fan of Hmart! My first exposure to the Korean grocery chain was while working for UPS in Carrollton, Tx. I am always interesting in trying new places and I had never heard of the place before, so I went in to see what I could find for a quick lunch. The experience was kind of like stepping into another country, even though I was still in Texas. One of the highlights was a French inspired bakery with lots of wonderful treats! I have to tell you, they were very good! I did end up with a sushi roll (no fish, just veggies) and I went about the day putting out fires for UPS.
The news is that if you live in Fort Worth, you no longer have to drive so far east to pay them a visit. The have been building a location on the east side of Fort Worth in Haltom City. The original completion date was supposed to be December of 2025, but supply chain issues have delayed the opening to September of 2026. Not everyone is a fan local culinary tourism (meant to represent the exploration of the many cultures in a city represented our various food preferences), but if you are I would definitely recommend that you give this place a try! It’s much cheaper than a plane ticket.
